Manuel Sebastianpillai

It is with deep regret that I announce the passing of Manuel Sebastianpillai

Manuel passed away on Thursday April 30 th 2020 at age of 81 years. His passing was not due to the COVID-19.

Manuel was an active soccer referee in his native Sri Lanka. When he  came to Canada he became involved with the Tamil Soccer Association (CTSA)in Toronto
He became a referee in the District of Scarborough in 1997 and was known as a soft spoken and dependable person who was always willing to help with any assignment given to him by our schedulers.

He continued refereeing for a period of 20 plus years until he retired in 2011. The Referees Association and the District of Scarborough have nothing but respect and good memories of Manuel on and off the soccer field

Manuel suffered a terrible tragedy three years ago, when his wife was struck and killed while crossing the intersection of Markham Road and and Steeles Avenue.
